WE GBB M4

Well my package arrived today as scheduled and I love it. I had pre-ordered the WE back during the beginning of January from Evike since their the only one's stateside that have them.


So far the gun's awesome. Smaller than our AEG's because they run on gas so the WE is a true 1:1 scale so real steel parts will fit. I already have a Magpul MOE stock on the way and a Magpul handguard on the plan list also.

I was shocked by the recoil this sucker gives off, not being used to this it jolted mr the first couple shots, especially full auto.

The Mags are a bit heavy making them a little more realistic(loaded up with rounds) but have some problems. The gray one issued with the gun leaked the second I put gas in it. The black one I got for free from evike has run like a champ. I believe the older ones are the problem makers from what I've read from forums and what I've followed up on. CO2 mags are in the final process of being made so I think I'll wait before I get some more mags if not I'll only buy these black ones. The mags hold 30 rounds.

FPS wise is High, 490 is the highest I got on my chrono with .20's. .30's are recommended because of the FPS rating and accuracy is shit with the .20's. .30's faired better with a 390-405 FPS rating and better accuracy. I haven't shot this outside yet being so cold but once it warms up I'll take it out for a couple shot to see where its range is.

The forward assist has popped of the gun a couple times but I've read up on this and some JB weld fixes it so it's no big deal.

Overall I look forward to using the gun once some power downgrades come into play and hopefully the hop-up issue will be fixed and the CO2 mags will come out in april so it's all up in the air now but I'm satisfied with my $355 purchase.

That is awesome, what gas did you use? I am assuming green gas, if it is compatible you could drop the fps with weaker gas. I heard somewhere that the GBB has high fps because of the blow back, but cant you disengage the blow back mechanism? All in all that thing is sweet.

ps - In your professional airsoft opinion, is gas the future? I have been considering a gas m4 as well since Christmas, I got a $800 canon xsi instead.

I used Propane with silicone drops, basically the same this as green gas but not as high of content of silicone. The CO2 mags will use the cartridges when they come out.

In my opinion gas guns are the future of airsoft as more and more companies come out with improvements and better prices. The WE is the cheapest of the 4-5 on the market right now at $340 overseas and $400 here. Mags cost $30 overseas and don't know over here yet. Better than the WA costing $100 a pop.

The blowback and recoil is awsome and can't wait to use in on the field. The mags also have a 30rd cap so it'll be tough to let loose but more realistic in not wasting ammo.

I think that if I ever get a gas gun, besides pistols, that it will have to be a bolt action rifle. I believe that propane is about 20 fps weaker than green gas. Can you disengage the blow back mechanism? I have heard of WA mags not holding enough gas to shoot every BB, therefore the need to stop the blow back. Would you recommend the WE over a KWA?

The WE holds more than enough gas to shoot every bb. The 30rd cap is actually better then having the 50rd mags that WA has. The WE can shoot through 2 mags before needing a refill but one you get on the 50th shot your FPS is going to decrease.

The blowback cannot be disabled, only the bolt catch function can. I would recommend it to someone with paitence and wanting to try something new. A KWA would be for someone who wants the reliability and less chance of something breaking. It's more of a comfort zone.
