Hey, a while back we discussed the idea of picking call signs for all of the new guys (in real life you don't get to pick your call sign, why should airsoft be any different?). Now if you pick a forum name that everyone agrees is pretty cool then, sure, we'll probably just call you by that.
Remember that, since we're yelling these over the radio in a firefight, they should be short, monosyllabic if possible. It's a pain in the ass to say "Reno-911-was-my-favorite-television-show... Cover me!" if you catch my drift. Also, on that note, try to think of things your name could be confused with in a firefight. "Snype," for example, when whispered in the field could confuse the squad and have everyone looking for a Sniper. "Saw" could lead the squad to believe that someone saw an M249. Get the idea?
Also, on a side note, what's with the "S" names? Snake and Stash started it off and now we have (tentatively) Snype and Stigma. What is that all about? There are lots of letters in the alphabet, folks, let's spread the love. ;-)
So, right now we have a handful of new guys we need to start mulling over call signs for. Brennan and Will (Stigma and Dragoon on the forums) are basically on the team and it sounds like Devin (Snype on the forums) is pretty hooked. We also have Phil and Brock who both will probably want on the team at some point (Brock, if he asks, does qualify for full membership based on his being to two RR skirmishes). We also have Curt/Goblin/Crow if he ever decides to make it out to a game. So, vets, let's get those thinking caps on and start whipping up some ideas for call signs!
I will create a "call sign" section here in the recruitment thread... Read the rules for posting. ONLY the new member may start a post formally requesting membership and a call sign at which point we'll start picking call signs. try to list hobbies, favorite TV shows, favorite bands, movies, etc to give us ideas.
