For all of you new guys (and old guys needing clarification) here are the skirmish rules for all Ruff Ryder events. These rules are set by the IAA, the governing body that the Ruff Ryders operate under. We have modified a few to fit our needs, but all modifications are ADDITIONS to existing IAA rules and not subtractions. These are not negotiable under any circumstances. Period.
Safety
1. When in safe-zones magazines must be out and safety must be on.
2. All goggles must be FULL SEAL ANSI 87.1 1989. The IAA has had a member lose an eye (and, subsequently, a firefighting job) while not wearing full seal goggles.
3. All players will obey "no fire" zones and will not fire into or over the zone.
4. Aiming for the head is not allowed unless absolutely necessary. Always try to avoid point-blank shots and never shoot eliminated players.
5. No fireworks or pyrotechnics may be used without first running them by event organizers or the Ruff Ryder C/O (Jinx).
6. You may not constrain a player under any circumstances by cloth, handcuffs, or physical holds. A "knife kill" may be employed if you are too close to safely shoot. Simply tap the player and tell them they are out or shout "bang" to simulate a shot.
7. Radio eavesdropping is not allowed. If you have a radio please keep it on your own frequency.
Weapons
1. Support Weapons: Any weapon that can fire full auto and/or has multiple Hi-Caps (High Capacity Magazines) or Box magazines. Maximum of 2000 BBs. The weapon HAS to be based on a real support weapon. Maximum 399 fps w/ .2 g. (1.48 J).
2. Sniper or Marksmen Rifles: Any weapon that is either a semi or bolt action rifle. Full auto and high-caps not permitted. Maximum energy allowed is 2.32J
3. Standard Weapons: Maximum energy is 1.5J (400 fps w/ .2 g), and the bb’s weight can't be heavier than 0.25g. Ammo limits may be specified by the organizers.
4. Launchers: Grenade launchers are not limited to the number of rounds that can be carried.
5. GBB pistols are limited to 350 fps with .2's , as they are intended as backup at closer ranges. There is a 5 mag limit for GBB's. (Includes NBB's also).
6. Claymore: Spring loaded claymores can be used with consent of organizers.
7. Grenades: The only "grenade" allowed is a hard-rubber replica. NOT to be thrown directly at opponents. 10 ft kill radius. If other “safe grenades” are found and approved by organizers, they can be used as well.
Chrono rules
0-350fps (1.14 joules): Full Auto, no minimum engagement distance.
350-399fps (1.48 joules): Full Auto, 25' minimum engagement distance.
400-449fps (1.87 joules): Semi Auto only, 50' minimum engagement distance.
450-500fps (2.32 joules): Semi Auto only, 75' minimum engagement distance.
* All full-auto AEGs must chrono UNDER 400fps. Some leeway may be given as a gun firing 410fps at chrono will probably drop 10-15fps as the battery drains. If your gun is firing too hot the event organizers may not permit you on the field. Our chrono measures various BB weights so don't try to trick us by firing a heavier BB. All you'll do is piss us off.
* All guns firing over 400fps must be sniper weapons and must be semi-auto only or permanently modified to fire semi-auto (bolt action, PSG1, etc). if you have an M4A1 firing at 480fps that is still capable of firing in full auto it will not be allowed.
* Remember, in airsoft we are regularly engaging at distances of 30 feet. We limit weapon power in order to avoid injuries on the field, not to "even the playing field" or eliminate your advantage. Safety is always first.
Membership
The Ruff Ryders reserve the right to refuse membership or revoke membership from any member at any time. All members must be over the age of 18 or have special circumstances (i.e. be a blood relative of an existing member).
