My advice with the sniper weapon: Don't. Lots of new players want to be snipers but they make a few mistakes:
First, a sniper rifle that isn't 500fps, gas-powered, and upgraded to hell (i.e. costs well over the $500 mark) isn't worth a fraction of a $100 clone AEG. Secondly, walk outside and feel the wind. If the wind is anywhere over about 5mph a round fired from a sniper weapon will deviate rather significantly. This means that, effectively, outside of June/July/August you'll never be able to use your gun.
If he's "new" to airsoft he's MUCH better off buying a clone AEG and getting into the game. Most everyone who is an effective sniper started playing as a regular rifleman and then, when they decided they were sold on becoming a sniper, they went out and bought $500 worth of rifle.
A $100 clone AEG can compete with a $400 AEG. A $90 Super 9 is absolutely, 100% worthless. Honestly, if I had to choose between a Super 9 and a spring pistol I'd take the spring pistol.

We are playing in laffeyette (sp?) first weekend in nov at Still Water III. Other than that I don't know when we will play after that. We usually play at a field in middleburry. Get your buddies to sign up on the forum and we can prob organize something if the interest is there. I know I will be extremely busy but may be able to find a sat or sunday afternoon.

I'm one of Ducky's friends, I'm looking to sign up. I'm new to Airsoft and soon getting a gun. If you have any suggestions on a gun, let me know. price range is between 200-400.

Welcome to the forums!
An M14 battery take any large size battery or mini sized battery. I can't remember if the 9.6 large batteries are a little too big but research a little online and you'll find the answer.

I had a TM M14 and it took an 8.4v 3300mAh battery. I'm sure there'll be TM M14s at SWIII on 11/2, I'll test my battery in one of their stocks - I forget if I had a modified battery compartment. I don't think I did, but I may have.
Hey, do us all a HUGE favor... Can each of you post on this thread with your name, what airsoft guns you have (manufacturer AND model both) as well as how many mags/capacity of those mags, location, and your age?
(for example:) Cheez, TM MC51, 8x60 mags, South Bend, 28
This thread is chock full of new people, it'd help us keep things straight. :-)
